posted July 18, 2003 6:24 PM I'm building a client app using Sockets for .Net. At times when the server app is running and open on the remote machine and I attempt to connect to it using my development machine an exception is thrown by a call to System.Net.Sockets within the Dart component. The message from the exception is: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. Both of these two machines are on the same doamin (with the same user name) yet only logon locally and not explicitly to the doamin. The user is authenticated the first time a network resource is accessed. When I first access the shared "C Drive" on the remote machine from my development machine I don't seem to have any problems connecting. Is there a way to set the permissions prior to calling BeginConnect? Thanks, Brad |

posted July 18, 2003 7:18 PM We don't really have anything to do with permissions at all. This sounds like a .NET Framework issue. Kind of like when I compile an exe on my machine and try to run it over the network. I think you have to configure .NET to allow that. Sorry I don't have a solution. |
