posted July 12, 2003 11:37 AM Dear Sir / Madam: I tried to install DartFTP in Windows NT (Service Pack 3), I have updated the OLE system files as prompted. But, at the end of the installation progress I clicked the "Finish" button and it shows a error dialog: DARTRE~1.EXE - Unable to locate DLL -------------------------------------- The dynamic link library WININET.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\Program... The installation is failed. How can I fix this problem? Thank you. Regards, Raymond |

posted July 12, 2003 1:50 PM It's failing because you don't have WININET.DLL on your system. It's part of windows so I am not sure why that would be. You'll have to use the manual registration page to get your unlock code: http://www.dart.com/register/ |

posted July 13, 2003 1:05 AM Thank you Tony. But other programs that use the PowerTCP FTP component also failed to start. Why? Will that WININET.DLL affect the FTP component? |

posted July 14, 2003 1:00 PM I got the report and I don't really see anything that looks incorrect. Try updating to a higher service pack. SP6 has been out for two years now. If that does not solve the problem, please explain EXACTLY what you mean by "failed to start". |

posted July 15, 2003 9:05 AM Not Found C:\WINNT\System32\wininet.dll Is it usual that the wininet.dll is not found in the system directory of Windows NT? After I installed the PowerTCP FTP component, I start my program that use the ftp component and the application error occured. Do you want to see the large error log file generated by Dr. Watson of Windows NT ? |

posted July 17, 2003 10:38 AM Yes. That means you never installed Internet Explorer, which is required. Try installing IE again and see what happens. |
