posted June 19, 2003 4:17 PM We are receiving an error no. 21001 This error no. is not defined in the Winsock Tools RAS Control or TCP Control error constants. These are the only controls being used. This is on a production machine using the executable. I am capturing any RAS or TCP error and displaying this back to the user and this is what is being returned. Is there a more recent help file with more error constants which I am unaware of? If not what would cause this error to be returned? |

posted June 19, 2003 4:22 PM The only hit I get in the Knowledge Base is SQL server error: Cannot add a Distribution Agent at the subscriber for a push subscription. |

posted June 19, 2003 5:40 PM I believe this was a Windows Error. The Customer had added the modem twice; both on COM 1. After I removed the second entry through Control Panel, I would get Error 20633 Port Not Available. From experience I have found the best way to resolve this error is to remove the modem, add it back, then reboot. This was done and the program now functions properly. Thanks for your time and quick response. Sorry for having you do so. This error was being captured as a general Err.Number, and apparently had nothing to do with the RAS control itself because all RAS errors are being displayed to the screen and written to an output file and no RAS errors were being returned. I also have been unable to find any references as yet to this Error Number in Windows. Is this something that the control would be able to detect or is this beyond the scope of the control? It appears to be a hardware conflict. Thanks |

posted June 20, 2003 9:08 AM I can't find anything either. I checked Google Groups for "RAS + 21001" and didn't get anything helpful. It doesn't show up in WINERROR.H. The only thing I found was the reference to the SQL error I already mentioned. |
