Does PowerTCP Sockets for .NET work on PocketPC? I have tried adding it to the toolbox but the TCP component is greyed out.

Hi,
No, but we are considering adding support for this in the future.
We are interested in the project that you are working on, and how our components would be used. Feel free to post any information you like concerning this.

Thanks,

We are working on a high-end home automation software using in 15,000+ sq/ft mansions. We currently use Dart to power Flash Xml Socket server that pushes out messages from MSMQ to attached clients and execute client requests. We now want to run a client on a PocketPC written using the SmartDevice extensions of .Net since the PocketPCs still has outstanding issues with developing Flash client in a timely manner.

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. Knowing what users want to do is very helpful in our development planning. We have done some preliminary testing internally for a CF version, and the Sockets product could be converted to support the CF. So far we have had very few people requesting such a version, which is why it has not been very high on the priority list, as compared to other new .NET products. Because of the very high cost of product development (writing the code is often not even the most expensive part of development), we tend to prioritize based on where demand is the strongest. I expect us to eventually release a version as demand increases over time. Thanks again for your inquiry and feedback.

Best Regards,
