Hi,
Problem using FTP control 4.1 (ptftp32.ocx Ver 4.1.2.2). Command used ->Object.login DNS,UID,PWD, "". Generates error "We've encountered FTP Error condition 220. Welcome Message from FTP server" and the program hangs.
This happens only on W2K clients connecting to FTP Server (IIS 4 and 5). FTP Log indicates Status=2 and Command=0 indicating control conection is closed. Has anyone encountered this problem before ?

Hi,
I just connected to an IIS 5 server with the Ftp Client sample app and it worked ok. Does the sample work for you?
Thanks,

The sample works OK. There is no specific pattern for this error to occur. I have seen this error occur as early as the first time I run the program or none at all in a hours time if I run this process continiously to download files. Only consistent thing is the log file that records a problem with the control connection which occurs as soon as the login command is issued. I have tried my program with the NT and 2000 server. I got error on both. This does not happen on NT client workstations running the same program.

Hi,
If you can send us a very simple project (as simple as possible) that we can use to connect to an IIS server and see the problem, please do so. The address is support@dart.com.
Otherwise, my advise would be to mimic what the working sample does.

Hi Ken,
I am working on it. I will e-mail you the sample code as soon as I reproduce the problem on my server. Either case I will post an update in a day or two.
Thank you.

Hi Ken,
I was able to reproduce the problem by writing a simple VB app. I have e-mailed the details to you at support@dart.com.

Thanks,
AJ.

Hi, Ken

We installed a Network Monitor Tool and found out that there is a request by client worksation to have the connection reset after the server acknowledges the 220 welcome message. So may I ask under what kind of scenarios these reset could happen and why?

Thanks
