I'm using Dart FTP, and though we initially purchased and tested it for PowerBuilder 6.5, the department is upgrading to PowerBuilder 8.0.  We're currently using 8.0.2, build 9506 in our test environment.

This works fine when I'm working in Runtime, but when I compile and run my executable, I get a bad runtime reference to my user object that I've placed the OLE control onto.

Are there any considerations I need to be taking into account when compiling?  Should the Object with the OLE control be compiled into the same PBD as the window it is placed on?  Do I need them both compiled into the EXE rather than in PBDs?

I love how nicely this is working in runtime, so I'm hoping I can get it running in the executable quickly so I can show this off to users in testing.

If it works in PB6.5, my suggestion would be to contact Sybase and ask them what needs to be done differently.

To be honest, they changed so much in 8 that I couldn't even figure out how to start a new project. I'm reasonably sure the new IDE was written by someone who never used one before.

Tony,

I got a response from someone in the powerbuilder newsgroups who is another happy Dart customer.

He suggested that my problem is that I didn't "Stamp" my DLLs with my registration number? He told me to run PRLIC32.EXE and look for a Stamp License button.

Ummm.. I don't have a PRLIC32.EXE in my bin directory and I don't recall anything in the license entry process that said anything about Stamping.

Is this something i've overlooked, and if so how do I go about fixing it?

He's referring to an older product that we sell, PowerTCP Professional. You have one of the PowerTCP Tools and they don't require stamping.
