I am trying to include your control within my own control and place it on a web page to upload files from the client. I have marked my control safe for scripting and it works as expected, but when I add your FTP control to my control it triggers the "An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page message". Is your control digitally signed to avoid this or is there another way around it. It is very nice but I cannot have that message pop up for my users.

Thanks, Chip

Our controls are not safe for scripting, so it is not marked as such. There are many ways people could use them maliciously so it has to up to you mark YOUR component safe. When you package the component using the VB setup wizard, you are given a chance to specify that the component is safe.

Tony, my component IS marked safe for scripting and behaves fine until I add your SecureFTP component and only then does the warning pop up. Wrapping in my scripting safe control does not work. Your SecureFTP control included with the SSL package is so ideally suited to my project (a web based document management system) that I don't want to try to find something else or attempt to write my own secure ftp client, but having the warning pop up each time a user uses the page is very disconcerting. Is there anyway possible to get a copy of the control maked safe for scripting?

Thanks, Chip

Chip,

All I can say is the last time I tried to create a Web based control using our stuff, I followed the directions in the VB setup wizard to create the cab, created the LPK file to go with it, tested the distribution and it worked fine.

If you have support we can take the time to go through the process again. Please contact support@dart.com if that is the case.
