Is there a way to have the web control work in a service while the user is not logged in?

I get a "#12002 Miscellaneous Error" when I try to use the control when a user is not logged in.

I have tried this in win2k with vb 6; the web control is not part of a form. I tried changing the owner of the service.

If changing the login of the service did not help, then it may be a limitation of WININET.DLL when running as a service.

Try using the WebASP control instead and see if you have the same problem. If you have the WebEnterprise tool now then you already have it.

Hope this helps!

Hey, I did what I should have done in the first place... get the update :-)

It works, no idea why it works though...

There is a bad link for the update somewhere, it gave me the update for 10/25/00. I had to hunt down the latest and greatest one.

Thanks. If you remember where the bad link was, please let me know.
