User107 Posts: 4 Member Since: 06/18/01	posted April 16, 2002 6:23 PM Occasionally users would get a "Mail Error: -1 Component died" error when sending e-mail with attachments. I was able to determine that this happens when an attached file is in use by another application. I was able to get around this issue by checking the file status before calling the SMTP control's Message object's AddAttachment method. My question is shouldn't the AddAttachment method be doing a file status check before permitting the file to be attached and set an appropriate error code rather than bombing when the send method is executed?
