(Sorry if this ends up being a duplicate post, my first one never seems to have appeared in the thread.)

We purchased the Web Tool about a week ago to help automate testing of our web site. We use IIS/ASP and so far I can traverse multiple pages with Web Tool automatically preserving the session cookies just fine. My stumbling block is simulating a client side javascript created cookie. Can anyone post an example of adding a cookie to the header information without disrupting the other headers (session cookie)?

TIA!

Hi,
With the Http control, the only way to add your own cookies to the request is to set Http.Cookies = False. Unfortunately, this means you will also have to handle all other cookies (including the session) as well.

Hmm, ok I think my boss is going to call about all this. If it's all or nothing on the cookie management the tool becomes much less useful. Consider that AspHTTP from ServerObjects is $50 with free on-line support and does most of what Web Tool does -- so if we have to do all the cookie processing between pages why spend the $249 on the Web Tool? Just my thoughts.

You'd think being a computer person I could post stuff in the right place lol. Anyway just noticed I posted my reply under my original e-mail instead of replying to you...

Hi,
It's ok, I receive every post that is made on the forum.
As discussed on the phone, we are going to look into the possibility of allowing the addition of cookies when
Cookies = True
and get back to you on Monday.
