I am able to get the POST to work with the URL set to "localhost" on a machine that is located outside the firewall. However, the same POST doesn't work on a machine located inside the firewall. I was able to get it to work by setting the proxy property to "localhost". The same setup works when the MSINet.ocx is used even when the proxy prperty is set to "".

Hi,
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you are saying.
Was this a question, or merely a comment?
Thanks,

I am sorry for not being cleared. Basically, a POST transaction worked with the URL set to "localhost" on a machine located outside the firewall when the proxy property is set to "". However, the same POST does not work on a machine inside the firewall. I had to set the proxy property to "localhost" to get it work. My question here is - why do I have to set the proxy property inorder for the POST to work? I was able to use the MSINET.OCX on the same machine (inside the firewall) and the same POST method worked just fine without using the proxy property.

Hi,
I am glad it works, but I am really not sure why you do not have to specify the proxy in msinet.ocx.
Sorry,
