Hi there,

we're trying to run a Delphi4 program on a
freshly installed Windows 2000 Professional
machine. This program uses your Thttp component
to fetch a html page via https . Every time the
programm tries to access the webserver, an error
message "The application experienced an internal
error loading the SSL libraries" pops up.

The help file which comes with the trial version
of the Web Tool states "Windows 2000 requires no system file updates". We even tried to update
MSIE 5.0 with some updates from microsoft.com
w/o any success.

Could you please tell me whats going wrong?
What do we have to install/tweak to get the
Web Tool working?

TIA

I am unable to duplicate. I have Windows 2000 and Delphi 4. I ran our PageFetch example and successfully retrieved "https://www.microsoft.com"

Please let me know what I need to do to see the error.

Thanks,

Tony,

thanks for your instant reply. Both our program
and your PageFetch are running just fine w/
"https://www.microsoft.com" but are failing
to load "https://weborganizer.t-online.de".

The only difference we can think of is the
encryption used on the server side. Microsoft
is using 56bit standard encryption, the T-Online
server is using 128bit encryption.

Maybe we have to update MSIE to have the ssl
libraries support this improved encryption?

Any ideas appriciated!

I think that's it. I have 128bit and I can load the weborganizer page OK.

Tony,

do you know if there's any way to update MSIE
5.0 or 5.01 to support 128bit encryption?
So far only installing MSIE 5.5 solved our
problem. But it's just hard to tell our customers
"in order to have our 800k tool working you
have to download a 30 meg MSIE 5.5"... ;)

That's the only way I know of.

Sorry,

Tony
